Zimbabwe’s long wait for a breakthrough on the continental stage goes on but coach Marian Marinica was pleased with the part played by Plymouth Argyle’s Brendan Galloway.
The Warriors crashed out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing bottom of Group B, their sixth group‑stage exit since first appearing at the tournament in 2004.
Galloway was an unused sub in the first game against Egypt when Mohamed Salah’s last-minute goal was enough to give the Pharoahs a 2-1 win then came on as a first half sub in the subsequent 1-1 draw with Angola.
The 29-year-old then played the full 90 against South Africa, a game that ended 3-2 to Bafana Bafana to confirm Zimbabwe’s elimination.
