Joe Ralls will play no more part in this season for Plymouth Argyle as head coach Tom Cleverley confirmed that the experienced midfielder will undergo surgery.

It brings to an end a short but effective spell in Devon and, for a while, he helped turn things around from a relegation fight into, dreams of playoffs.

The 32-year-old, who had been with Cardiff City, joined as a free agent in November and quickly impressed to the extent that a short agreement became a season-long deal.

Ralls picked up a hamstring injury picked up early in last month’s 1-0 win over Luton Town.
